About the role
We're working with an established SAP partner in New York who are expanding their S/4HANA consulting practice to meet growing demand for cloud transformations and system conversions. As an SAP S/4HANA Functional Consultant, you'll deliver end-to-end implementations across Finance, Controlling, Materials Management and Sales & Distribution, working with clients in manufacturing, retail and professional services to configure solutions that align with their business processes. You'll gather requirements, lead workshops, configure modules, support testing and training, and provide post-go-live support to ensure successful adoption.
You'll be joining a collaborative team of consultants with a strong track record of delivering complex S/4HANA projects, working on a mix of greenfield implementations and ECC to S/4HANA conversions. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver SAP S/4HANA implementations from requirements gathering through to go-live and hypercare, configuring core modules such as Finance (FICO), Materials Management (MM), or Sales & Distribution (SD) to meet client needs
- Lead functional workshops with client stakeholders to understand business processes, document requirements and design solutions that balance best practice with business requirements
- Configure S/4HANA modules including master data, organisational structures, transaction flows and reporting, ensuring alignment with client specifications and integration across the system
- Support data migration activities by validating business rules, reviewing data mappings and coordinating with technical teams to ensure accurate transfer from legacy systems
- Conduct system testing, user acceptance testing and end-user training, building client confidence and ensuring smooth adoption of the new system
- Provide post-go-live support and optimisation, troubleshooting issues, refining configurations and identifying opportunities for process improvement
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience delivering SAP S/4HANA implementations or working as a functional consultant on ECC to S/4HANA conversion projects, ideally within a partner or consulting environment
- Strong functional knowledge of at least one core S/4HANA module such as Finance (FICO), Materials Management (MM), Sales & Distribution (SD), or Production Planning (PP)
- The ability to gather requirements, translate business needs into system configuration, and communicate clearly with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience with SAP Fiori, embedded analytics or S/4HANA Cloud would be an advantage but is not essential
- Someone with a calm, structured approach who can manage competing priorities, build trust with clients and deliver quality work under deadline pressure
- Candidates who combine solid functional expertise with SAP certification in a relevant module will stand out, though certification is a plus rather than essential
