The SAP B1 market in 2026
Why does B1 pay keep climbing? Count the partners. Over 800 of them worldwide, serving roughly 70,000 customers — and the channel keeps winning new business faster than anyone trains consultants to deliver it. Every strong candidate who enters this market gets several offers. We watch it happen weekly.
The single biggest lever is HANA. There's a live backlog of SQL-to-HANA migrations sitting in partner pipelines, and consultants who've delivered one earn 12 to 18% more than SQL-only peers at the same level — a gap that has held so long we treat it as structural. Add-on depth stacks on top: Boyum B1UP, Beas Manufacturing, EDI work. Each one is billable, so each one is payable.
One thing to be clear about: these bands are where offers close, not where adverts open. Hiring? The top of the band is the price of the best person available, not a ceiling. Job hunting? An offer below the band usually means the role was scoped below your level — worth saying out loud in the negotiation.

What's moving SAP B1 pay
The HANA migration backlog
SQL-to-HANA work dominates partner pipelines. Consultants who've actually delivered one? The scarcest resource in the channel, and priced like it.
Partner channel expansion
New wins keep outrunning consultant supply, so partners now hire ahead of the deal rather than after it. That change alone pushed offers up a band.
Add-on ecosystem depth
Boyum, Beas, Produmex, EDI — every one turns a generalist into a specialist a partner can bill differently. Manufacturing vertical depth especially.
Retention pressure
When a good B1 consultant resigns, the counter-offer arrives within days — we brief candidates for it before they hand in notice. Employers who benchmark annually skip this whole drama.
Skills that pay a premium
| Skill or credential | Typical uplift |
|---|---|
| Hands-on SAP HANA migration experience | +12–18% |
| Boyum B1UP certification | +8–12% |
| Beas Manufacturing vertical depth | +10–15% |
| Crystal Reports + SAP Analytics Cloud reporting stack | +5–10% |
| Prince2 / PMP for project managers | +£5–10k UK / $10–20k US |
Where the money is
United Kingdom
London and the South East run the partner market, and pay 10 to 15% over the national median for it. Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds are the secondary hubs that actually have volume. End-user roles follow the factories instead — the M62, the Thames Valley, the Midlands. Hybrid at one to three days on site is now standard enough that we rarely have to negotiate it.
United States
Demand sits where mid-market manufacturing and distribution sit: the Midwest belt, Texas, the Southeast, Southern California. Remote is far more common across the US partner channel than the UK one, and it flattens the regional gaps more than most candidates expect.

If you're hiring
What does a SAP B1 hire really cost?
The cheapest thing about a good hire is the salary. Under-offer a SAP B1 role and you buy three months of empty desk, a re-run search — and usually a higher price second time round. We'll benchmark the role free before you go anywhere near the market, on a permanent or contract basis.
Brief us on the role →If you're job hunting
Are you paid what you're worth?
Find your role and level above. Add whichever premiums you genuinely hold. That's your number — and if your current package sits under it, well, now you know. Browse our live SAP B1 jobs or send us your CV for a confidential salary check.
Upload your CV →How we benchmark these numbers
Simple, really: we watch what offers actually close at — our own placements first, cross-checked against the published benchmarks — and we print that. Which lands our bands roughly 10% above the typical advertised median, deliberately. Adverts open low; candidates say yes higher up. Budget from the median and you'll meet your shortlist again in three months, at someone else's offer stage.
SAP B1 salary FAQs
What is the average SAP Business One consultant salary in the UK in 2026?
£49,500 to £66,000 at mid-level, £66,000 to £82,500 senior, and £110,000 to £165,000 upwards once you are running a practice. London and the South East add roughly 10 to 15% to each of those.
What does a SAP Business One consultant earn in the US in 2026?
$93,500 to $126,500 mid-level, $126,500 to $154,000 senior, and practice directors from $176,000 to $220,000. Remote hiring is normal across the US channel, so the metro premium is thinner than the UK equivalent.
Do SAP HANA skills increase a B1 consultant's salary?
Yes, by 12 to 18% over a SQL-only consultant at the same grade. What pays for it is the migration backlog still sitting in partner pipelines, and the fact that far more people have watched a HANA migration than have run one. It has held long enough now that we see it as structural rather than a spike.
How much do SAP Business One contractors charge?
£495 to £715 a day in the UK, $95 to $155 an hour in the US. HANA migration specialists clear the top of both on programme work. UK assignments are quoted outside IR35 only where the engagement genuinely supports it.
