About the role
We're working with a family-owned manufacturer in Pennsylvania that needs an IT Business Analyst to take ownership of its SAP Business One system. You'll be the in-house expert for around 75–100 users, from the factory floor through to senior leadership. You'll sit with people, understand their problems and turn them into practical solutions in SAP. You'll also be the first port of call for wider IT queries, bringing in infrastructure support where needed.
The business went live on SAP Business One on HANA a few years ago and is still early in using its full functionality. There is a backlog of reporting, efficiency and factory-process improvements waiting for the right person. Key Responsibilities
- Act as the in-house owner of SAP Business One, supporting users with day-to-day ERP operations and queries
- Meet users across the business, understand their pain points and turn requirements into practical SAP solutions
- Create and maintain reports and analytics using SQL, SAP HANA, Crystal Reports and other BI tools
- Customise and test ERP changes, reports and system upgrades or patches, documenting procedures and delivering user training
- Triage IT issues as the first point of contact, working with the on-site infrastructure engineer and group IT where required
- Evaluate current processes, identify gaps and recommend improvements that make better use of existing SAP functionality
What We're Looking For
- Around 3–5 years of ERP experience in a customer-facing support, analyst or similar role
- Strong SQL and report-writing skills, ideally including Crystal Reports
- An approachable, confident manner with the ability to earn the respect of colleagues from the factory floor to leadership
- A self-starter who is happy to be the go-to person, takes initiative and finds new work when the queue is clear
- SAP Business One and HANA experience would be an advantage but is not essential, as candidates from other ERP backgrounds will be considered with cross-training available
- A degree or equivalent experience, and manufacturing or production experience would be beneficial
