About the role
We are working with an established Epicor partner based in Essex who need a Project Manager to lead implementations and upgrade projects for their manufacturing clients. You'll take ownership of the full project lifecycle, managing timelines, budgets and resources while acting as the primary point of contact for clients throughout discovery, build, testing and go-live phases. This is a hands-on role where you'll coordinate technical and functional consultants, manage stakeholder expectations and ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
You'll be working with a varied client base across discrete manufacturing, job shops and distribution businesses, delivering Epicor Kinetic projects that range from new implementations to cloud migrations and system enhancements. Key Responsibilities
- Manage Epicor Kinetic implementation, upgrade and enhancement projects from initial scoping through to successful go-live and handover to support
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, tracking milestones, dependencies, risks and resource allocation across multiple concurrent projects
- Act as the main client contact, facilitating workshops, managing change requests and ensuring stakeholders are informed and aligned throughout the project
- Coordinate internal delivery teams including functional consultants, developers and technical architects, ensuring clear communication and accountability
- Monitor project budgets, track time and costs against estimates, and escalate risks or issues promptly with proposed mitigation plans
- Support clients through user acceptance testing, data migration activities, training delivery and post-go-live stabilisation
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience managing ERP implementation or upgrade projects, ideally with Epicor Kinetic, Epicor ERP or another manufacturing-focused ERP platform
- Strong understanding of project management disciplines including planning, risk management, change control and stakeholder communication, with the ability to keep projects on track in a consulting environment
- Solid grasp of manufacturing or distribution business processes such as production planning, inventory control, procurement and finance, and how ERP systems support those workflows
- A calm, methodical approach to problem-solving with the ability to manage competing priorities, handle client expectations and maintain confidence during challenging project phases
- Formal project management qualifications such as PRINCE2, APM or PMP would be an advantage but are not essential
- Experience with Agile or hybrid project methodologies, or familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps or Jira, would be beneficial
