About the role
We are recruiting for a growing end user in the West Midlands looking for an SAP Business One Analyst to join their in-house ERP team. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the business to translate requirements into practical SAP solutions, manage system administration, and take ownership of complex incidents while mentoring junior team members. This is a hands-on role where you'll combine functional expertise with technical skills in SQL and Crystal Reports, delivering insights that drive better decision-making and process improvement.
You'll be supported by an established team and have the opportunity to shape how the business uses SAP B1, with involvement in subsidiary rollouts, continuous improvement initiatives, and the chance to work with tools like BPA and Boyum Usability Pack. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to understand operational needs and translate them into effective SAP Business One configurations and solutions
- Manage system administration including user roles, access rights, authorisations and configuration changes to maintain a secure and compliant ERP environment
- Take ownership of complex SAP B1 incidents, managing resolution from initial diagnosis through to closure and guiding the wider support team on best practice approaches
- Create and maintain Crystal Reports and SQL queries that deliver actionable insights and meet evolving reporting requirements across the business
- Identify and drive process improvements using BPA and Boyum Usability Pack tools to streamline workflows and enhance system efficiency
- Support SAP B1 rollout projects to new subsidiaries, contributing to requirements workshops, UAT, go-live activities and post-implementation reviews
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience working with SAP Business One in an analyst, support or functional role, ideally in an end-user environment
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and practical experience building and modifying Crystal Reports for SAP B1
- Solid understanding of core SAP Business One modules such as financials, sales, purchasing and inventory, with the ability to configure the system to meet business requirements
- Experience with system administration, user management and incident resolution, with a methodical approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Familiarity with BPA or Boyum Usability Pack would be an advantage but is not essential
- Someone with a collaborative, stakeholder-focused approach who can mentor junior colleagues and provide stability and inspire confidence across the business
