About the role
We're working with an established SAP Business One partner in Manchester who are looking for a Technical Consultant / Developer to join their growing delivery team. You'll be responsible for building customisations, integrations and extensions that enhance SAP Business One for clients across manufacturing, distribution and professional services, working closely with functional consultants to translate business requirements into technical solutions. This is a hands-on development role where you'll write code, configure extensions, troubleshoot technical issues and support clients through implementation and post-go-live phases.
You'll be part of a supportive technical team with access to experienced developers and architects, working on a varied project portfolio that includes API integrations, custom forms, reports and workflow automation. Key Responsibilities
- Develop customisations and extensions for SAP Business One using the SDK, Service Layer and APIs to meet specific client requirements
- Build integrations between SAP Business One and third-party systems including CRM, eCommerce, warehouse management and reporting platforms
- Configure and maintain Crystal Reports and SQL queries, delivering tailored reporting solutions that support business decision-making
- Troubleshoot technical incidents and performance issues, working directly with clients and internal consultants to diagnose root causes and implement fixes
- Support implementation projects by preparing technical environments, conducting code reviews, managing version control and participating in testing and deployment activities
- Collaborate with functional consultants during requirements workshops to assess technical feasibility and propose efficient solutions
What We're Looking For
- Practical experience developing for SAP Business One using tools such as the SDK, Service Layer, or DI API, or strong development skills in C#, .NET or SQL with the ability to pick up SAP B1 development quickly
- Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL, with experience writing queries, stored procedures or working with database structures
- Familiarity with integration technologies such as REST APIs, web services or middleware platforms would be an advantage but is not essential
- A calm, methodical approach to problem-solving, with the ability to break down complex technical challenges and communicate solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Someone who enjoys working collaboratively, takes ownership of their work, and is keen to build long-term expertise in ERP development
